Grand Rapids, MI- With over 70 college coaches from throughout the Midwest expected to be in attendance, the u17 Boys Academy are looking forward to great competition and one of the region's top showcase events. The boys will face competition from Indiana, Virginia, and Kentucky.
Due to an Excel Charter Academy conflict the following schedule will be for tonight only-
5pm-6pm u10 Boys Black @ Ridge Park
5:45pm-7pm u14 Girls @ Ridge Park
7pm-8:15pm u11 Girls Black @ Ridge Park

5pm-6pm u11 and Younger Goalkeeping
6pm-7pm u11 and Older Goalkeeping
All training at Woodland is on for tonight.
All training at Ridge Park is cancelled due to today's school closure.
u14 Boys Premier will be training at Excel Charter Academy from 7pm-8pm on Monday.
u14 Girls Premier will be training at Excel Charter Academy from 6pm-7pm on Monday. u14 Girls Premier will move this week's training on Thursday from 7pm-8:15pm at Ridge Park as the Showcase team for our Weekly Coaches Clinic.
High School Girls Training - We will need to take next week off or, if you would like to join the u14 training, please let me know.
u11 Girls Black will now be training from 5:15pm-6:45pm at Ridge Park.
u10 Boys will train next week from 5:15pm-7:45pm at Ridge Park with Zsolt then will move to Excel Charter Academy the following week.
u10 Girls will train on Wednesday from 7pm-8pm at Ridge Park with Abrahm.
u17 Boys will train on Mondays (Excel) and Wednesdays (Ridge Park) at 8pm.
Goalkeepers will not train on Thursday this week due to gym availability.
u11 Girls White will train at Cannonsburg Elementary from 4:15pm-5:30pm on Tuesdays.
There have been a few changes to team training and as we continue to work through coaching issues, please continue to understand that we will do our best to make catch every issue and offer the best training for the kids. Overall, Zsolt and I are very excited to see the development of the players and know that the 16 weeks of winter training will pay off this spring.
With that being said, here are some changes to the training schedule. I would encourage you to visit the winter training page to make sure that I haven't missed any changes.

Don't forget that we will be running Premier Courthouse this Sunday from 6pm-7:30pm. Questions have come up about canceling it due to the Super Bowl and to be clear, we do not cancel it for the Super Bowl.

Zsolt and I attended a state director of coaches meeting to determine State Cup seedings and after the dust settled, the coaches agreed that our u13 Boys Academy was the top seed and the u14 Boys MRL was the 4th seed.
These 'recommendations' are passed on to the MSYSA State Cup Committee who will make the final determination but, after hearing a representative from that committee, our understanding is that there will be minor changes that should not affect these age groups.
The fact that we received such high seedings is a sign of great things to come. I can count only a few teams based outside of Detroit that have received a #1 seed in the past ten years and we are definitely the youngest club to have gotten there!!!! In addition, both these teams earned their seeds by beating Nationally ranked teams (u13s beat Vardar in August and u14s beat Wolves in October MRL play).
We have a number of players who are doing very well in the MSYSA State ODP system this winter. If you son/daughter is one of them, we have created a form on the front page for you to let us know the details. We will posting an article in the next week so, please complete the form and let us know.
